Rules of The Road                    

• Boats must be docked or moored at night to a physical dock or permitted mooring,  anchoring is not allowed.

• Boats cannot operate from 1/2 after sunset to 1/2 before sunrise (no nighttime use).

• Capacity is limited to the capacity listed on this site or the USCG Weight Rating Placard.

• Boats are restricted from: Woods Hole Passage and Buzzards Bay, Nantucket, Muskeget Channel and south of the Islands.

• All State and local laws apply, please review MA boating regulations prior to boating. Check Here

• Operating under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden.

• Only the licensed and contracted operator may captain the vessel, and they must be over the age of 21.

• Watersports equipment is available for purchase at our ship store.

• There is a $2500 Damage deductible if damage is to occur.

• A check-out and vessel orientation will be performed prior to departure and is required.

• Fuel must be refilled at Safe Harbor Vineyard Haven at time of return and is the responsibility of the renter.

• Boats shall not operate during a posted Small Craft Advisory as listed by the Zone Marine Forecast for Vineyard/Nantucket Sound

Safety Notices and Safe Operations

• No Bowriding, legs must be inside the front of the boat, regardless of railings or handholds

• Caution should be used whenever there is someone seated ahead of the captain, wakes and waves may cause sudden shock to the passengers and result in injury or death.

• Safe Speed should always be used, more waves, more traffic means more hazards.

• Always use the GPS to navigate and determine safe water depth to avoid running aground

• Remove fenders and stow properly after leaving the dock, loose fenders can pop off and cause injury to those inside the boat

• Always charge someone with being a spotter during water sports, safe water sports requires at least 3 people

• Always obey safe speed or No Wake zones. In general keep 150’ from all beaches and swim areas.
